How to Register
💻
Online
Most states offer online voter registration through their Secretary of State website. Fast, easy, and instant confirmation. You'll need a driver's license or state ID number.

By Mail
Download your state's voter registration form, fill it out, sign it, and mail it in before your state's registration deadline. The National Voter Registration Form is accepted in most states.
🏛️
In Person
Register at your local election office, DMV, library, or government office. Some states allow same-day registration at the polls on Election Day itself.

Registration Facts
📅
Deadlines Vary
Most states require registration 15–30 days before Election Day. Some states offer same-day registration. Check your state's specific deadline well in advance.
🔄
Update When You Move
If you move or change your name, update your voter registration. Your ID must typically match your current registered address. Do this before the registration deadline.
✅
Confirm Your Registration
Always verify your registration status before Election Day at vote.gov. Even if you registered before, your status may need to be confirmed after moving or a name change.
🏠
Same-Day Registration
Many states allow you to register and vote on the same day — even on Election Day itself. Check if your state offers this option, especially if you missed the regular deadline.
⚠ Don't Wait Until Election Day
Registration deadlines can be 2–4 weeks before Election Day in many states. Add a reminder to your calendar to check your registration status at least one month before any election you plan to vote in.
